OUR MISSION

To help improve health, wellness, literacy and education of the Arizona Hopi tribe.

Healthcare and Wellness

The Wellness Center– Provides Health and Wellness education through workshops, and Community Outreach Programs to the Hopi community on heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, and stress reduction. The Beating Hearts Foundation works in collaboration with the Hopi Wellness Center in an effort to provide the Hopi people with practical tools to address interwoven social and medical needs. Our presentations focus on overall wellness, as well as providing specific information on the prevention and treatment of various conditions through diet, exercise and stress management that promotes healthy choices into existing Hopi lifestyles.

Hopi Youth Wellness Camp 2023-Located for the 1st time on the Hopi reservation. The 23 youths, ages 9-12 were selected on a Body Mass Index (BMI) scale from four Hopi elementary schools.  Pre and Post data screenings were conducted, with an average of 2.3% decrease in body fat. A follow-up program was provided for all youth attendees and their families to help ensure long term success.

As a result of the huge success of prior Hopi Youth Wellness Camps, the 2023 Hopi Youth Wellness Camp will allow 30 adolescent campers.
