President- Melody Lindquist, MSN, APRN, FNP

Melody Lindquist is a board-certified nurse practitioner with twenty years of nursing experience. She began her career as a critical care nurse in the pediatric intensive care, then into other intensive care units, including adult cardiac, thoracic, and surgical ICU’s. She provided home nursing care to children with severe disabilities, along with serving the homeless population in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a nurse practitioner Melody worked in rural settings providing family practice and urgent care before moving to internal medicine and cardiology at Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in La Jolla, California. She believes in holistic healthcare, understanding healing involves the mind, body and spirit. She is a level 3 Healing Touch provider. Melody first met and worked with the Hopi people as a nursing student in the Four Corners region of Arizona. They inspired her with their rich culture and spirit of generosity. She was thrilled to return in November 2012 to begin a series of health and wellness presentations. This program has now evolved into The Beating Hearts organization.

Vice President- Hal Lindquist

Halbert Lindquist, is a Senior Managing Director of the Hedge Fund Solutions Group at The Blackstone Group. Prior to joining Blackstone in 1997, Hal was in charge of global risk management and proprietary trading at Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. Mr. Lindquist holds both a degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Arizona.

Secretary/Treasurer- Tom Furrier, CPA

Thomas K. Furrier is a co-shareholder-in-charge of the tax department at R and A CPAs in Tucson. Mr. Furrier has over 25 years of public accounting experience. Tom’s expertise is in the area of tax compliance and planning for partnerships, corporations and individuals. Tom also has significant experience with not-for-profit accounting and tax issues. Mr. Furrier holds a bachelors degree in Accountancy from Northern Arizona University. He is a member of both the American Institute of CPAs and the Arizona Society of CPAs. Tom is also a board member of the YMCA of Metro Tucson and is active with the national and local Sigma Chi fraternal organizations.
